    The IMHCA Difference:

We have redesigned our successful NCMHCE Test Preparation training to align it with the new narrative format, taking effect in November 2022. This Test Prep will prepare you to pass the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) licensing exam — with flying colors! Dr. Giordano’s Linking Logic strategy will be expanded to include the use of Interconnection, Planning, and Intentionality.

    Workshop Description:
This is a review course with instruction and materials designed specifically for passing the NCMHCE by our world-class presenter, Dr. Francesca Giordano, a leading voice in the counseling field. Attendees are encouraged to spend time outside of the workshop studying and preparing, using the handout provided in the workshop. This workshop is designed to help counselors approach the exam realistically and confidently by understanding the exam’s focus on intentional treatment and integration of planned practices from intake through treatment to termination.
Test Preparation Methods Included in Registration:
    • Two-day intensive online instruction
    • This is a lecture based workshop with case examples
    • A PDF of the presenter's handout will be emailed to you
    • A section of material and instruction dedicated to additional review resources
    • The ACA Code of Ethics Booklet
    Workshop Agenda:
    • NCMHCE Test Overview & Test-Taking Strategies
    • Counselor Attributes, Skills, and Ethics

    NCMHCE Exam Format:

The NCMHCE exam is a computerized exam.  The new format of the NCMHCE includes 11 case studies. Each case study will have a set of 13 multiple-choice questions, broken into three sections. The NCMHCE exam is a standard multiple-choice exam, requiring you to choose a single correct answer among choices A-D. The questions are derived from a piece of narrative provided at the beginning of each exam section.

    Presenter:

Dr. Francesca Giordano, LCPC, has extensive experience conducting training workshops for counselors. Currently, she is the CEO of Veduta Consulting, a private practice in downtown Chicago.  In 1998, she received the Counselor Educator of the Year Award from the American Mental Health Counselors Association, and she also received the Counselor Educator of the Year Award from the Illinois Counselor Educators and Supervisors in 2006.
