Presenter: Dr. Fran Giordano

The IMHCA Difference:

We have redesigned our successful NCMHCE Test Preparation training and have added a few fantastic features to make it better than ever.

Our goal is to teach you a strategy that will help you pass the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) licensing exam—with flying colors!

Most people will tell you that if you want to pass the exam, you need to study the material, review the areas you aren’t familiar with, and work through a bunch of practice questions before you take the exam. Those people are right. There are lots of different study guides, review materials, and websites out there to help you review the content of the NCMHCE and practice with simulations. It is very important to study, review, and practice, because there is no substitute for knowing the material, and being familiar with the format of the exam.

Our two-day training goes beyond that by incorporating Dr. Giordano in person instruction with her strategy called Linking Logic. It is a strategy for answering the kind of simulation questions the NCMHCE licensing exam uses. Linking Logic lets you show what you know on the exam, by giving you a clear and effective step-by-step method that maximizes positive point items and minimizes the negative ones. If you know the material and learn to use Dr. Giordano’s Linking Logic strategy effectively, no matter how tough or complicated the simulation might be, you will be able to choose the positive point items every time.

Linking Logic isn’t a magic fix, and it isn’t cheating. It is based on the simple fact that if you have a proven, successful strategy to use, you will go into the examination with confidence, and be able to clearly apply your professional knowledge to each simulation question. Linking Logic isn’t a study guide, either. You will find some content review and practice questions in the included manual, but they’re here to show you how to answer the questions, not to give you the answers. Everything in the included manual and the two-day in-person course is focused on teaching you the Linking Logic test-taking strategy, so you can choose the best answer to every question, every time, by finding the Direct Link.

 NCMHCE Exam Format:
The NCMHCE exam is a computerized exam.  Items on the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE) are designed to sample a broad area of competencies, rather than recall isolated facts. Therefore, the items assess clinical problem solving ability, including identifying, analyzing, diagnosis, and treating clients through the use of effective treatment planning principles.  The exam consists of clinical mental health counseling cases. Each case is divided into 5-8 sections classified as either information-gathering or decision-making.
